Hi, I’m Daryl.
I am an observer and I hold that practice sacred, because it's not my story. It's yours. I'm just to telling it.
The photo marks a moment frozen in time. It says "I exist," "This happened." "I was here."
I am much more interested in the photograph as an artifact of that practice; of storytelling, keeping and creating legacy, and giving history back to folks.
That is why I shoot film. There is no instant digital image to distract from the pure and present act of meeting one another.
