There are some feelings that words cannot describe
The Death card of the Waite Tarot Deck features two naked figures. One Man. One Woman. Both were chained to the pedestal of the beast with a pentagram halo.
The demonic image strikes fear and heads warning, but the faithful readers know the chains hang loose around the necks; they could lift those restraints off over their heads and be rid of this self-imposed prison.
The tension and struggle seem like noble causes. If we can just gain enough momentum to break the restraints, we will be free of, but we refuse to entertain the possibility that it is supposed to be easy. our limitations.
This series of moving images documents an embodied meditation. A performance piece for one; a practice of transformation through physicalized symbols. A nod to Jung and a work in progress.
